A Brief Description of the Fishbein Center People

The faculty members of the Center reflect a wide range of interests and areas of research. Anthropology, biology, psychology, mathematics, physics, medicine, philosphy, history, and public policy are among the departments from which our faculty originate. The associated students also reflect a diversity of interests, from anthropology to applied mathematics. However, all involved with the center see an important role for the history of science in helping us to understand scientific theories and activities. Both the students and the faculty also share a belief in the importance of interdisciplinary research.

Although the faculty and students are very diverse, the many Fishbein Center events provide faculty and students common oppurtunities to enrich their academic life as well as to socialize with one another. Workshops, such as that in the History of Human Sciences, provide oppurtunities for students and faculty to share their various research perspectives.
