Dissertation Completion Fellowships

Students study between classes

For students who matriculated before Summer 2016, Dissertation Completion Fellowships provide tuition, University student health insurance, the Graduate Student Services fee, and an academic-year stipend. These awards are designed to increase completion rates and promote reductions in time-to-degree in the social sciences. Award preference is given to those students who are likely to complete the degree within tenure of the fellowship.

Students can hold a completion fellowship no later than the eighth year of doctoral studies. Quarters of pro forma status count towards the year of study; leave of absence quarters do not count. Students must be admitted to candidacy at the time of application.
